Basket Weaver

The Fortress welcomed Janell to our team this week. Janell comes to us from Oklahoma and will be our basket weaver. We have a long wish list for her to begin her baskets here. Baskets were used in the Middle Ages to carry everything imaginable- food, clothing, seeds, storage and transport. Different shapes and materials were used, too. Basket weaving is hard on the hands. It also takes pre-planning – the willow Janell will use for our baskets needs to soak at least three days before she can begin weaving with it! Janell, we are happy to have you join the Fortress Team.
